On Tuesday, 1st March, a tragic accident occurred at the site of the Italian subsidiary Colorificio Casati in Verona. A major fire broke out in the production department for varnishes and wood stains. One employee lost his life in the fire. The heartfelt thoughts of all employees of the Meffert Group go out to the family of the victim as well as to all employees on site who witnessed the incident.

The full extent of the damage as well as the background of the cause of the fire cannot be assessed at the moment. The fire brigade's intervention prevented the flames from spreading to important areas of the site, leaving them unharmed. The employees of the site are already working at full speed to be able to resume operations as soon as possible. The new logistics centre which was opened last year in San Martino Buon Albergo near Verona ensures that Colorificio Casati's customers can continue to be served.
