Meffert AG invests in the future
Meffert AG Farbwerke is expanding its storage capacity: At its headquarters in Bad Kreuznach, the company is building a 6,500 square metre warehouse including an office floor and 100 square metres for the fitness and health of its employees. Today the board of directors of the family-owned company broke the ground with guests from politics and business. The construction work is to be completed by autumn 2020.
The eight million Euro project is a major investment that will strengthen the Bad Kreuznach company location. 6,000 additional pallet spaces in the high-bay racking and 1,296 pallet spaces in the flow storage are created here. An additional 1,320 shelves will enable the dispatch of small quantities.
A total capacity of 30,000 pallet spaces at the Bad Kreuznach site will ensure that Meffert AG will remain able to meet the increased requirements concerning the availability of goods and the fast delivery of products in the future.
"With a high stock level, we want to ensure an almost 100% delivery rate in order to be successful together with our customers", explained CEO Klaus Meffert. "The investment will greatly reduce the current costs of outsourcing storage with logistics companies." The main trigger for this was a long-term contract with a major customer.
The new gym with changing rooms and showers will not only provide training equipment but will also be used for courses given by graduate sports instructor Simone Bopp. The sports programme has been part of the company's health promotion programme for several years now and is custom-tailored to the different needs of employees in administration, production and the warehouse.
Strengthening the Bad Kreuznach location and the region
With around 500 employees at its headquarters in Bad Kreuznach, Meffert AG Farbwerke is one of the most important employers in the Rhine-Nahe region. The new warehouse will create 30 new jobs.
